Janesville Parker’s girls soccer team picked up one of the biggest wins in program history Thursday night.

The Vikings, behind Olivia Rolon’s unassisted goal in the 65th minute, upset Madison La Follette, 2-1, in a Big Eight Conference match.

Parker (2-2, 1-1) did not win a game last season.

“We’re getting our positioning down and our formations, and we’re to the point where everybody is getting comfortable playing together,” Parker first-year coach Steve Strieker said.

Parker took a 1-0 lead in the first half on Tanya Ramos’ goal, but La Follette tied it on Lee Smith’s unassisted goal.

Becky Harmata stopped 16 of 17 shots for Parker.

Parker plays at Whitewater in a nonconference game Tuesday.
