Janesville Parker’s girls track and field team began the 2014 season Thursday afternoon by racing past Elkhorn and Lake Geneva Badger in a nonconference triangular.

The Vikings finished with 131 points, while Elkhorn had 127 and Badger 104.

Sophomore sprinter Arianna Robinson won the 100- and 200-meter dashes to pace Parker.

“It was a great start to the season, and I’m really proud of the effort everybody gave tonight,” Parker first-year coach Kristin Collins said. “It was nice to finally get outside and compete.

“I’m really excited about the season because I’ve got a great group of seniors and a pretty strong group of juniors.”

Mandy Slaback led a 1-2-3 finish for Parker in the 800, while Morgan McCulloch won the 400 for the Vikings. Parker senior Brecklyn Skaleski won the pole vault.

Parker competes at Middleton on Tuesday.
