Janesville man arrested on 4th OWI

JANESVILLE—Police arrested a Janesville man on a fourth-offense drunken-driving charge Wednesday afternoon, according to a Janesville Police Department news release.

According to police: An officer stopped a vehicle for speeding at Milton Avenue and Matheson Street at 4:28 p.m.

The officer noticed the driver, Phillip M. McGuire Jr., 61, of 432 N. Parker Drive, Janesville, had slurred speech and glossy, bloodshot eyes. McGuire smelled of intoxicants and admitted to drinking.

McGuire's breath samples resulted in a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.12.

State Department of Transportation records showed McGuire has three prior OWI offenses with the last being over five years ago.

He is being held at the Rock County Jail.
