Marvin J. Ofstun, age 78, of Janesville, died on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Rock Haven Nursing Home. He was born in Soldiers Grove, on Sept. 18, 1935, the son of Carl and Malena “Malla” (Wee) Ofstun. He graduated from Soldiers Grove High School in 1954, and had been employed by General Motors for more than 20 years, retiring in 1986. Marvin was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the UAW Local 95.

Marvin is survived by four sisters: Eleanor Wagner of Waukesha, Caroline (Monce) Erickson of Madison, Margaret “Muggie” Furley of Fort Atkinson, and Sonja (Arnie) Skrede of Madison; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including his special lady friend, Mary Tullis of Janesville. He was preceded in death by his parents; three siblings: Eda “Edy” Branstadt, Myron “Red” Ofstun and Peter Ofstun; and two nephews, Doug Wagner and Steve Erickson.
