Warriors take 2-0 lead on Jets
FLINT, Mich.--Zack Szajner scored two goals and added an assist as Michigan took a commanding 2-0 lead in a North America Hockey League first-round series against Janesville with a 5-1 victory here Saturday night.
The Jets must win the remaining three games to take the series. Game 3 is Friday night at the Janesville Ice Arena. If the Jets win, Game 4 will be Saturday night at the Ice Arena.
Michigan took control just 2:28 into the game when Colin Horton scored an unassisted goal. Szajner scored his first goal at the 11:35 mark.
Alex Smith cut the Warriors' lead in half with a goal off a feed from Brandon Schultz at the 4:56 mark of the second period.
Brock Kautz made 28 saves for the Jets.
