Esther M. King, 73, of Hazel Ridge Road, Elkhorn, WI, died Monday, March 31, 2014, at Lakeland Health Care Center surrounded by her family. She was born July 29, 1940, in Palatine, IL, the daughter of the late Edgar and Mathilda (Kalepp) Sporleder. After graduating from high school, she attended the Patricia Stevens Finishing School of Chicago. She was united in marriage to William Bruce King on June 6, 1959, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Schaumburg, IL. Esther was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Delavan, WI, and the Elkhorn Garden Club. She liked to work crossword puzzles, and enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune. She worked as a teacher's aide at Lakeland School and also cooked at Lakeland Hospital. Esther was a devoted homemaker, Loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family.

Esther is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bruce; three children: Lloyd (Carie) King of Irving, TX, Julie (Mark) Gruebel of Mukwonago, WI, and Annette (Jon) King-Hummel of Delavan, WI; eight grandchildren: Carson, Austin, Grace and Jackson King, Dylan and Olivia Gruebel, Maxwell and Gus Hummel. She is further survived by her twin sister, Ethel (Fred) Nelson of Deerfield, WI; and her brother, Leo Sporleder of Grapevine, TX.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, at OUR REDEEMER LUTHERAN CHURCH, 416 W. Geneva Street, Delavan, WI, with Rev. Robert P. Rickman officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens in the Town of Delavan, WI. Visitation will be at the CHURCH on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
