Jefferson County officials trying to identify body
JEFFERSON—Officials still are trying to identify the body of a woman found in a cornfield Saturday, according to the news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
A passing motorist called the sheriff's office after seeing something out of the ordinary just off the road on North Road near County CW in the town of Ixonia.
An autopsy was performed on the body Monday, and the sheriff's office is working with the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner and the Wisconsin State Crime Lab to identify the victim, the news release said.
The body is female weighing more than 127 pounds and between 4 feet 10 inches tall and 5 feet 5 inches tall. She is probably Caucasian, has dark hair and has tattoos on her right lower abdomen and on the underside of her right wrist. She also has a facial stud piercing on the left side of her lower lip, the news release said.
Anyone with information about the women's identity should contact Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Detective Tim Behselich at 920-674-7314.
Police have not said how the woman died but have said that her body was there over the winter.
