TOWN OF HARMONY—Two people were taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County A and Henke Road Monday afternoon, officials said.

The Rock County Sheriff's Office and the Janesville Fire Department were dispatched to the crash at the intersection east of Janesville at 3:29 p.m. Monday, Janesville Fire Department Lt. Bob Gabbey said.

The male driver of a Dodge pickup truck with a boat trailer attached was outside the vehicle when Gabbey arrived.

The truck was upside down, against a traffic pole and the engine was on fire, Gabbey said. The boat that was on the trailer was near the ditch, "sitting as if somebody placed it there," Gabbey said.

The driver of the Chevrolet Cavalier was stuck, and officers helped get him out.

Both vehicles are in "bad shape" Gabbey said.

He did not know the extent of the drivers' injuries. Nor could he give the names.

How the accident happened and the events that quickly unfolded are unknown at this time, Gabbey said.

Traffic was closed while officers were on scene.

The area was cleared within about an hour, Gabbey said.
