Jets cap regular season with one more win
JANESVILLE—The Janesville Jets will enter the NAHL playoffs on a roll.
Janesville wrapped up the regular season Saturday night at the Janesville Ice Arena with a 4-1 win over Johnstown.
Truman Gonzales had two goals for the Jets, while Logan Halladay stopped 26 of 27 shots in net.
Janesville finished third in the NAHL’s North Division and will open postseason play against the Michigan Warriors. The Jets won six of their last eight games.
Johnstown scored first Saturday on Tanner Barnes’ goal just 21 seconds into the game, but Gonzalez answered at 1:48 of the period on an assist from Ian Janco. Jordan Himley gave the Jets the lead for good with a power-play goal at 7:28 of the first.
Drew Callin made it 3-1 at 17:55 of the third before Gonzalez concluded the scoring with an empty-net goal with a minute left.
