Car hits house, causes extensive damage
EDGERTON—A vehicle that hit a house early Thursday morning in the 200 block of Stoughton Road caused “extensive” damage to the car and house, according to an Edgerton Police Department news release.
According to the release: The crash happened at 1:03 a.m. Thursday when the reporting person said a vehicle hit the house and an unresponsive female was trapped inside.
The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was taken with non-life-threatening injuries to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville.
The investigation showed the vehicle was traveling west on Rollin Street when it failed to negotiate the curve at Stoughton Road, left the road and hit the house.
Preliminary information indicates alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the crash.
