Carol Stricker, age 77, of Janesville, died Monday, March 24, 2014, at home. She was born on Dec. 30, 1936, in Janesville, the daughter of Chris and Hazel (Spliter) Goldbeck. Carol attended Janesville High School. She married Walter Stricker on April 24, 1957, in Evansville; he died on Nov. 26, 1997. Carol had been employed at Gibb’s Manufacturing, Dana Corporation and Gentz’s Country Market, from which she retired in 1997. Carol had also taught Catechism classes at St. William Catholic Church. She enjoyed word puzzles, watching Walker Texas Ranger on TV and especially being with family and her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by a daughter, Yvonne (Willis) Cross; and a son, David (Barb) Stricker, both of Janesville; a granddaughter, Nicole Frey; grandsons: Scott (Tammy) Barlass, Curt (Sara) Barlass, Don Stricker, Ben (Michelle) Stricker and Brian (Nicole) Stricker; great-grandchildren: Emma, Aaron, Calvin, Cory, Condon, Averie and Caleb; step-grandchildren: Marcus, Alyssa, Brianna, Brittney and Bret; brothers-in-law: Hank (Bev) Strickert, Francis (Marlyn) Strickert and Roger (Laurie) Strickert; sisters-in-law, Shirley Russell and Carolyn Goldbeck; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Jo Burner. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five sisters, four brothers, and a great-grandson.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, with Rev. Ridley Usherwood presiding. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the FUNERAL HOME.
