Two semitrailer truck crashes affected traffic on Interstate 90/39 for four hours Monday night and into early Tuesday morning.

According to notifications from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, a semi crashed just before midnight in a northbound lane just north of Newville Road. The crash scene was cleared two hours later.

Just after midnight, a semi rolled over in a northbound lane between County MM and Palmer Drive. The crash scene was cleared just before 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Snow hit Rock County around 10:30 p.m. Monday, and the roads got bad around 11 p.m., said a spokesman from the Wisconsin State Patrol.

“Traffic is doing good, now, but the roads are still probably a little slick now,” he said, before 5 a.m. Tuesday.

One person is believed to have been injured in one of the semi crashes, but no other details were available.

Snowplows were out on the Interstate and in the city of Janesville before 4 a.m., said a dispatcher at the Rock County Communications Center.
