Patricia E. Forrestal, age 83, of Janesville, passed away peacefully at home following a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease on Friday, March 21, 2014. She was surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born on August 15, 1930 in Janesville, the daughter of Leo and Genevieve (Lacke) Connors. She attended St. Patrick’s Grade School, graduated from Janesville High School in 1948, and then received her degree from Mercy School of Nursing in 1951. Pat married Joseph B. Forrestal of Afton, WI on April 26, 1952. She worked as a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital and then at the Medical Clinic of the General Motors Assembly Plant until she retired. Pat enjoyed her years acting with the Janesville Little Theater, crocheting, as well as playing bridge with many local groups, including the Elks and the Janesville Country Club. She was a founding and life long member of St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church. Pat cherished her six grandchildren and was able to be front and center at many of their activities.

Pat is survived by her husband, Joseph B. Forrestal; her children: Mary (Barry) Jones of Madison, Holly (Philip) O’Brien of Whitefish Bay, WI and Patti (Patrick) Conlin of Shoreview, MN and Joseph Forrestal Jr. of Beloit, WI; 6 grandchildren: Hannah and Grace Jones of Madison, Brigid and Connor O’Brien of Whitefish Bay, WI, Clara and Shawn Conlin of Shoreview, MN; her sister, Helen Ford of Packwaukee, WI; brothers: James (Estelle) Connors of Monroe, WI and Brian (Linda) Connors of Janesville: many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Her parents preceded her in death.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at ST. JOHN VIANNEY ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH. Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY and again on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at ST. JOHN VIANNEY CATHOLIC CHURCH.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Agrace Hospice, or St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church. The family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers from Bright Star and Agrace Hospice for their compassionate care of Pat with special thanks to Lesley Hernandez.
