Ellen Bertha Ramberg, age 96, of Janesville, died on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Cedar Crest Health Care Center. She was born in Edgerton, on Feb. 25, 1918, the daughter of Louis and Bertha (Braaten) Holman. She graduated from Edgerton High School and moved to Janesville, from Beloit, in 1960. Ellen married Harold Ramberg on May 17, 1941, and he preceded her in death in 1968. She was president of State Electrical Supply, Inc. and in 1969, became the sole owner. She was one of the founders of the wholesale electrical supply business that started in January of 1955, and sold in November of 2013. Over the years, she received many recognitions and awards. Most recently, she received a Life Time Achievement Award from the South Central Wisconsin Builders Association and the Wisconsin’s 2014 Governor’s Trailblazer Award for Women in Business. Ellen was a member of Cargill United Methodist Church, South Central Wisconsin Builders Association, Zonta Club, the Elks Ladies, and Janesville Rotary Gardens.

Ellen is survived by her son, Dennis Ramberg, and his partner, Robert Heeman of Janesville; grandson, Andrew Heeman and his wife, Brittany, and great-granddaughter, Taylor Heeman of Oakland City, IN; two sisters-in-law, Harriet Eikland and June Ramberg of Cambridge, WI; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Einer Holman and Norman Holman.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014, at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY with Rev. Stu Allen officiating.
