Edna M. Dawson, 77, of Janesville, passed away late Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Mercy Hospital surrounded by her family. Edna was born on April 28, 1936, in Edgerton, WI, one of nine children born to the late Emil and Grace (Spitzer) Dallman. She graduated from Edgerton High School and work at the shoe factory for a couple years. On Dec. 31, 1955, Edna would marry the love of her life, James Dawson. She loved to do ceramics, take trips to the casino, coffee clutch with her high school classmates, and decorate her home for whatever holiday was coming up. She loved being a Navy wife to her husband and loved her job as a housewife and taking care of her family. She was the epitome of 1950's era American Housewife.

Edna is survived by her four children: Karleen (Thomas) Nelson of Edgerton, Karen Podewels of Edgerton, Jimbo (fiancee: Patti Adams) Dawson, Jr. of Edgerton, David Dawson of Janesville; grandchildren: Jenelle Nelson, Tirea (Josh) Bergendal, Kristin (Aaron) Tilleson, Lee (fiancee: Sarah Hemenway) Podewels, Samuel Podewels, Jimmy Dawson, III, Wesley Cole, Amber Dawson, Eric Dawson; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings: Harold (Ruth Ann) Dallman of Indianford, WI, Dwight (Rosie) Dallman of AZ, Ruthie (Clyde) Miles of Janesville; sisters-in-law, Judy Dawson and Betty Dallman; and a special friend: Louise Wolfinbarger. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Dawson; son-in-law, Roger Podewels; siblings: Delbert Dallman, Emil Dallman, Helen (Howard) Olson, Dorothy (Vernon) Heth, Howard Dallman.

Memorial services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES, EDGERTON, with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the FUNERAL HOME from 12 Noon until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Edna's name.
