James J. Mackey, 84, of Delavan, WI, and formerly of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, March 16, 2014, in Willowfield Nursing Home, Delavan, WI. He was born Feb. 2, 1930, in Woodstock, IL, the son of William and Susan (Woodbeck) Mackey. Jim was a graduate of Marion Central High School, Woodstock, IL. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1948 until 1951. Jim married Kathryn “Kay” Yealey on Aug. 18, 1951. Jim was formerly employed for two years at Fairbanks Morse and then retired from Beloit Corporation after 46 years, retiring in November of 1993. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Mackey of Delavan, WI; children, Kathleen (Steve) McCarty of Rockford, IL, and Daniel (Jill) Mackey of Charleston, SC; grandchildren: Nicky, Kim, Matthew, Nate, Tyler and Natalie; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers: William, Frank, Vincent, Clifford and Clarence.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at ST. JUDE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 747 Hackett Street, Beloit, WI, with Fr. John Hedrick officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the CHURCH. DALEY MURPHY WISCH & ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.
