JANESVILLE—Police have released a sketch of the man who robbed the Taco John's restaurant at 2821 Milton Ave., last week.

A white male entered the restaurant about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday and handed the clerk a note saying the store was being robbed and asking for cash, Janesville Police Sgt. Brian Vaughn said. The robber then opened his coat to reveal what was possibly a handgun in his waistband.

The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of money, and the robber fled west on foot, police said.

The robber is described as being about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a thin build, Vaughn said. The robber was wearing a blue winter-style beanie, a blue hooded sweatshirt and light blue jeans. He also was wearing a gold watch and a cloth belt, according to the news release.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Kyle Austin at 608-755-3044 or Janesville Crimestoppers at 608-756-3636.
