Burton F. Lervik, Janesville, WI (1931-2014)

Burton F. Lervik, age 82, of Janesville, died on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Ashland, on Aug. 26, 1931, the son of Joel and Cora (Olson) Lervik and was a 1950 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a Sniper. He married Barbara A. Torpy on Oct. 30, 1954, in Dubuque, IA. Burt worked for Warner Electric Brake and Clutch for 19 years before becoming co-owner of Aetna Machine and Tool, Janesville, until his retirement in 1994. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1621, where he also served as commander and Military Order of Cooties, Orfordville American Legion and Beloit Moose Lodge. Burt liked fishing, traveling and watching the Green Bay Packers.
Burt is survived by his wife, Barbara; four children: Brad (Thim) Lervik of Beloit, Bruce (Mary) Lervik of Janesville, Barry (Karen) Lervik of Beloit, and Becky (Matt) Ottesen of Beloit; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Blake Lervik; and a brother, Everett Lervik.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at MILTON LAWNS MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, Janesville, with John Sumpter officiating. Burial will be at Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
