Become a severe weather spotter

JANESVILLE-The Rock County Sheriff's Office will host two severe weather spotter classes Monday, March 24, at the Rock County Health Care Center, 3530 N. County F. A basic class will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and an advanced class will be from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Midwest Severe Storm Tracking Response Center will offer the courses to the public at no cost.

Objectives of the classes are to learn about severe weather climatology in Wisconsin, how to identify severe weather in the field, learn different types of storms and their threats, how to report severe weather, and learn about safety and emergency preparedness during storms.
