JANESVILLE--Police are looking for a man who tried to rob three people in the Janesville Mall parking lot Monday night.

Police were called to the mall, 2500 Milton Ave., at 9:05 p.m. Monday.

The victims—a woman and two men who all work at the mall—were headed to their cars in the southeast mall parking lot when a man approached them, police said.

“He said, 'Give me all your stuff,' or something to that effect,” said Janesville police Lt. Keith Lawver.

The man didn't display a weapon, Lawver said.

The man reached for the woman's purse, but she pulled away, and the man left without taking anything, police said.

Police described the would-be robber as black, tall and thin, wearing a gray facemask and black hooded sweatshirt.

The man fled in a maroon Ford Crown Victoria with two other males.

Anyone with information on the robbery attempt is asked to call Detective Chris Buescher at 608-755-3044 or Janesville CrimeStoppers at 608-756-3636.
