JANESVILLE—A Janesville man was treated for a minor dog bite and released from St. Mary's Janesville Hospital before being taken to the Rock County Jail after he was taken down by Janesville Police Officer Glen Hageman and his police dog, Karo, on Sunday night.

Police received a tip that a burglary suspect they had been trying to track down for three days was at home, said Sgt. Aaron Ellis.

Upon arrival at 4235 Saratoga Drive, police observed the suspect in the house. When they attempted to make contact with Ian C. Gould, 17, he ran out the back of the house where Hageman and Karo were already in position.

“They ordered him to stop, but he continued to run and the dog brought him down in the backyard,” Ellis said.

Gould was arrested on charges of burglary and felony bail jumping, he said.
