Man injured when run over by car
MONROE—A Whitewater man was injured Sunday afternoon after jumping from a slow-moving vehicle and getting run over by the vehicle.
Zachary Allen, 22, was taken to University Hospital in Madison with unknown injuries, the Green County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
The department said Scott J. Allen, 59, Whitewater, was driving eastbound on Highway 59 in the town of York at a slow speed looking for a place to pull over because of a medical condition for another passenger in the vehicle.
Sheriff Mark Rohloff said Allen's son, Zachary, became excited and jumped from the back seat of the moving vehicle and was run over.
The incident happened at about 4:50 p.m.
Zachary Allen was transported to the Madison hospital. A hospital spokeswoman said Monday morning that there was no patient by that name at the facility.
