Jets win third straight game
A long trek east wasn’t enough to cool down the surging Janesville Jets.
Logan Halladay stopped all 29 shots he saw and Jets won their third straight game, 2-0 over the Johnstown (N.Y.) Tomahawks on Friday night.
The victory kept the Jets ahead of Springfield and Soo by two points in the race for the fourth and final playoff spot in the NAHL North. It also pulled Janesville to within three points of third-place Johnstown.
Zach Avolio put the Jets on the board at 7:28 of the first period.
Drew Callin made it 2-0 midway through the second with a power-play goal, and that’s all the help that the red-hot Halladay needed.
Halladay has given up just three goals in his last three games and improved to 15-8 this year with his second shutout.
The two teams square off again tonight.
