Mel Johnson, died at his home on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at the age of 72. Melvin Emanuel Johnson, eldest son of seven boys, was born to the late Emanuel Patrick and Charlotte Ann (Gilson) Johnson, on March 7, 1941, in Barron WI. He lived his entire childhood on a farm at Poskin Lake, and graduated from high school in Cumberland, WI, in 1959. He graduated from Northland College at Ashland, WI, in 1964. He devoted most of his working life to Robinson's Marketing Division Incorporated, a company he started in 1975, with the backing of a close friend. He was married to Leneta Kay (Fish) at Sparta, WI, in 1967. Of this union, was born three daughters, Jill Marie (Mike) Anderson of Edgerton, WI, Julie Melissa (Rob) Patrick and Jolene Marguerite (Scott) Troia, both of Milton, WI.
Suviving is Mel's loving wife of 47 years, Leneta; his three daughters; and five grandchildren: Nicholas and Elizabeth Patrick, Jacob Anderson, and Abigail and Kaydence Troia; six brothers: Claire (Marge) of Cumberland, WI, Elmer of Woodbury, IN, Albert (Kathy) of Cumberland, Martin (Karen) of Centuria, WI, Marvin of Prairie Farm, WI, and Andrew (Yolanda) of Elka Park, NY; 19 nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014, at CENTRAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, Edgerton, with the Rev. James M. Johnson officiating. A visitation will be held at the CHURCH on Friday, March 7, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. The EHLERT FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, US HWY 51 N, Edgerton, is assisting the family.
