Your Thanks: Many offer support after fire destroyed house
I want to express my deepest gratitude for everyone who helped me after a fire destroyed my east side home in Janesville on Jan. 28. I can’t say enough about the first responders who came to my home that cold winter night. To the firefighters, paramedics and the Janesville police, I cannot thank you enough for your quick actions as you helped me and worked to limit the damage to my home. I also would like to thank all my neighbors for your tremendous aid throughout this ordeal.
I’m also deeply grateful for the doctors and nurses who treated me at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, as well as administration, support staff and volunteers who have assisted in so many ways. As a Mercy employee for 36 years, I’ve worked alongside these wonderful, giving people. But it wasn’t until I was faced with my own life-changing crisis that I truly realized what angels these individuals really are. They’ve reached out with words of encouragement and prayers and helped out in so many ways. I’ve always known that we treat each other like family at Mercy, but through this experience, it has come alive 200 percent. Mercy truly is my family.
I also will never forget the incredible support I have been given by individuals throughout this community. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all!
