Glenn W. Richards, age 82, a longtime Janesville resident, passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 27, 2014, at his home. He was born Aug. 26, 1931, in Woodstock, IL, the son of the late William A. and Beatrice L. (Freeman) Richards. Glenn was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving his country during the Korean Conflict. On March 25, 1956, he married the former Joyce E. McCaffrey at the United Methodist Church in Evansville, WI. Glenn worked for many years as an Electrical Engineer for Giddings & Lewis (Gilman), and also for Northern Conveyor Co. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Janesville. Glenn was a very skilled woodworker, and also was known for his beautiful gardening projects. He loved fishing, and also enjoyed playing cards. His greatest love was his wife and family, but he was especially proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren!

Glenn is survived by his wife, Joyce; his two sons, Bruce (Mary) Richards of Janesville, and Dale (Cheryl) Richards of South Beloit, IL; his daughter, Janet (Rick) Wells of Janesville; his sister, Ruth Wille, of Janesville; his seven beloved grandchildren: Michelle (Grant) Zickert, Jeffrey (Sarah) Richards, Robert (Nicole) Richards, Nicole (Dan) Zajork, John Wells, Hailey Wells, and Andrew Wells; nieces; nephews; and many friends; including his dear friends, "the best neighbors", Kim and Melvin Crawford. Besides his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his son, Roy Richards; and his brother, Paul Richards.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 17 N. Jackson St., with Rev. Dr. Bruce Jones officiating. Burial with full Military Rites by V.F.W. Kienow-Hilt Post 1621 will take place in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 10 until 11 a.m. at the CHURCH.
