Edgerton’s historic 2013-14 season came to an end Saturday with a 71-57 home loss to Lakeside Lutheran in a WIAA Division 3 regional final.

Edgerton led 18-15 after one quarter, but Lakeside Lutheran made a run in the second quarter, hitting three of its four 3-point baskets in the frame to take a 38-31 lead into the break.

“They made a heck of a run in the second quarter,” Edgerton head coach Jason Knott said.

Lakeside point guard Isaiah Gronholz scored 10 of his 19 points in the first half and set up his teammates with his quickness and dribble penetration. Three other Warriors scored in double figures in the game.

Brooks Johnson led the way for the Crimson Tide, scoring 20 points in his final game. Jake Zeimet added 12 for Edgerton.

“Brooks tried to will us to win, he really did,” Knott said.

The Crimson Tide finished with a 20-4 overall record and a 15-1 mark in Rock Valley play, the most conference wins in program history.
