The Parker Vikings hung tough with top-seeded Mukwonago on Friday night, but the Indians pulled away late to open their WIAA Division 1 boys basketball tournament.

Mukwonago outscored Parker 22-7 in the fourth quarter for a 71-44 regional semifinal victory that ended the Vikings' season.

“We played with them but just had a stretch where we couldn't put the ball in the basket,” Parker coach Ryan Masterson said. “I was proud of the kids that they battled to the end. The seniors gave us all they had.”

The Vikings trailed by just six points in the final mintue of the first half, but Mukwonago senior Dominic Cizauskas banked home a 3-pointer at the buzzer. Cizauskas finished with a game-high 20 points.

Parker battled to within two possessions in the third quarter.

To start the fourth, however, the Vikings didn't score in the first four minutes.

“We just got stuck on 37,” Masterson said.

Sophomore Marq Brooks led Parker, which finished with a 6-18 overall record, with 14 points.
