Nate Freytag capped a 14-point game by hitting two free throws in the final seconds to seal Big Foot’s 41-38 victory at Whitewater in a WIAA Division 3 regional boys basketball game Tuesday night.

The No. 10-seeded Chiefs scored the road upset and advanced to a regional semifinal game Friday night at No. 2 Marshall.

The Whippets trailed 39-38 with 10 seconds left in the game and had the ball on Big Foot’s baseline. When the inbounds pass was deflected, Freytag controlled the ball and was fouled.

After he hit his free throws, Whitewater’s 3-point attempt to tie the game was blocked.

Austin Hoey added 11 points for the Chiefs.

Brett Harms led the Whippets with 12 points.
