Linda J. King, age 63, of Janesville, passed away early Wednesday morning, Feb. 19, 2014, at her home with her family at her side, following a courageous 22 month-long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born May 6, 1950, in Freeport, IL, the daughter of the late Elden and Virginia (Howard) Steele. She was married to Robert W. King, and he preceded her in death on May 12, 1998. Linda had worked as a buyer for Ben Franklin Crafts. Linda was a longtime active member of Oakhill Christian Church.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Victoria (Jason) Franzen-Keesey of Janesville; her two step-sons, Michael (Sheri) King of Michigan, and Steven King of Monroe, WI; her daughter-in-law, Sherree Jaques; her three siblings: Janet (Bob) Bianchetti of Janesville, Tom (Margaret) Steele of Brodhead, and Marlene (Harvey) Rayner of Wisconsin Dells, WI; her four grandchildren: Adam King, Anna King, Abigail Keesey, and Gabrielle Keesey; her three beloved great-grandchildren: Brooklynne, Jaceion, and Ian; nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides her husband and parents, Linda was preceded in death by a niece, Becky Rayner; and a nephew, Kenneth Steele.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, with Pastor Aaron Gonzalez officiating. Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 12 until 2 p.m. at the FUNERAL HOME.
