Port Huron showed Sunday why it’s in first place in the NAHL North Division against the Janesville Jets.

After a sluggish first period in which Janesville’s Tyler Rehm gave the visitors a 1-0 lead, Port Huron outshot the Jets 26-10 in the second and third, scoring three times to extend its division lead.

Janesville, meanwhile, finds itself in fifth place after the Springfield Junior Blues beat the Michigan Warriors on Saturday night to take a two-point lead for the fourth playoff spot in the North Division.

The Jets and Junior Blues are scheduled to play what could be a pivotal two-game series next weekend at the Janesville Ice Arena.
