JANESVILLE—A Janesville man was jailed Friday after being accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy.

Kenneth K. Kimpel, 48, of 468 W. Delavan Drive, had known the boy for several months before the assault, police said.

The victim told police the assault took place in the garage at Kimpel's home, police said.

Police arrested Kimpel at 6:30 p.m. Friday at his home, where they also executed a search warrant.

Police seized items from the garage, including computer equipment.

Kimpel was arrested on a charge of second-degree sexual assault of a child, a felony whose definition is sexual contact or intercourse with a person who is younger than 16.
