SUN PRAIRIE—The regular season ended on a sour note Saturday night for Janesville Parker’s boys basketball team.

Sun Prairie raced out to a 16-point lead after one quarter and coasted to 74-31 Big Eight Conference win.

Shane Waldon had 19 points to lead the Cardinals, who finished second in the conference behind Madison Memorial.

“Sun Prairie’s a very good basketball team when they’re clicking on all cyclinders like they were tonight,” Parker coach Ryan Masterson said. “They’re very athletic and present problems with their 1-3-1 defense.

“But we need to put this one behind us and concentrate on (Kenosha) Bradford. That’s a game we can win.”

Parker (5-17, 2-16), which got 10 points from Adam Thompson, hosts Bradford in a WIAA Division 1 regional game at 7 p.m. Tuesday night.

Parker (31)—Thompson, 10; Treinen, 3; Cu. Osmond, 4; Co. Osmond, 6; Hauger, 1; Brooks, 4; Empereur, 3. Totals: 12-6-31.
