RVC boys hoops: Edgerton sets school record

Edgerton High’s boys basketball team set a school record for conference wins in a season Saturday.

The Rock Valley North champion Crimson Tide, behind 17 points from Adam Converse, pulled away in the second half for a 58-37 win over Clinton.

Edgerton, which finished the regular season 19-3, capped off a 15-1 Rock Valley season by eclipsing the school record of 14 conference wins.

The Crimson Tide led by nine at half and outscored the Cougars 22-13 in the third to open up an 18-point lead.

Marc Eliszewski had 11 points to lead Clinton.

• Whitewater 44, Big Foot 32—The Whippets cranked up the defense in the second half of a Rock Valley crossover boys basketball game Saturday in Walworth to beat the Chiefs.

Big Foot led 25-24 at halftime but scored just seven points the rest of the way as Whitewater pulled away.

The Whippets won with a balanced scoring attack. Josh Nast led the way with 10 points, but Sam Fuller and Scott Gorsuch each chipped in nine and Joe Michaels scored eight.

Nate Freytag and Nico Tovar each scored 12 for the Chiefs, but four other players had just two points apiece for the hosts.
