Short-handed goal sends Janesville past Soo
The Janesville Jets began a pivotal three-game weekend with a win Friday night.
Kyle Patava's short-handed goal early in the third period lifted the Jets to a 4-3 win over Soo in a NAHL North Division game.
Janesville, which got two goals each from Patava and Robin Hoglund, picked up two points in its chase for one of four playoff spots in the North Division.
Brock Kautz was outstanding in goal for the Jets. Kautz stopped 34 of 37 shots he faced.
Janesville coach Joe Dibble was ejected late in the second period with a 10-minute misconduct penalty.
The Jets begin a two-game series tonight at Port Huron. The second game is Sunday afternoon.
