Raymond L. Watson, age 70, of Elkhorn, WI, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Lakeview Specialty Hospital at Waterford, WI. Ray was born Aug. 31, 1943, in Ripley, TN, to parents, Marion and Winnie (Jenkins) Watson. He was united in marriage to Barbara Woodard on Oct. 1, 1983, at Woodstock, IL. Ray was employed as a mechanic and later worked for R & L Spring Company of Lake Geneva, WI, for 24 years. More recently, he was owner and operator of Ray’s Pitstop restaurant in Walworth, WI. Ray’s interests were widely varied but included Nascar, fishing, and enjoying TV game shows. Some of the activities that were special to him was drag racing his car named “Howdy Dowdy” and his beagle, “Toby”.

Ray is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughter, Barbara Ann and husband, Billie Clark of Finley, TN; step-children: Shelia Homola of Zenda, WI, Randy Lamkin of Jackson, TN, Vicki and husband, Doyle Rowe of Wauconda, IL, Daryl Lamkin of Jackson, TN, Jeffrey and wife, Bridget Lamkin of Wauconda, IL; three sisters: Verna Moore of Ripley, TN, Pauline and husband, Leamond Arthur, and Faye and husband, Robert Pace of Dyersburg, TN; two grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; one great-grandson; 15 step great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild. Ray was preceded in death by his parents.

Services for Ray will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at TOYNTON FUNERAL HOME in Walworth, WI, with Pastor Wayne Rohde, officiating. Visitation was held on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at the FUNERAL HOME. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at the Windridge Memorial Park in Cary, IL
