Gustave Leroy (Bud) Platson of Wilson, WI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at the Baldwin Area Hospital, surrounded by his family. Bud was born on the family farm South of Glenwood City, WI, on March 21, 1926, to Henry and Minnie (Foote) Platson. He was christened at the Glenwood City Methodist Church on June 14, 1926. In 1965, Bud took a job in Janesville, WI, as a boiler operator at the School for the Visually Handicapped. In 1966, he became building and grounds supervisor until he retired in 1988.

Bud leaves behind to celebrate his life, his wife of 68 years, Rethia; his children: David Platson of Roberts, WI, Donald (Kathy) Platson of Janesville, WI, Kathy Phalin of Downing WI, Patty (Joe) Jarvis of Pahrump, NV, and Loyd (Julie) Platson of Pahrump, NV; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME with Julie Platson officiating. Interment of the cremains will be in the spring at the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood City. Friends may call at the FUNERAL HOME from 12 until 2 p.m. on February 15, 2014.
