December 5, 1969 - February 6, 2014

Scott Anthony Carviou, age 44, of Cottage Grove, WI, beloved husband, father, son, brother and caring friend to all, passed away from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Thursday morning, Feb. 6, 2014. Scott was born on Dec. 5, 1969, in Two Rivers, WI, to Dale and Doreen (Brouchoud) Carviou. He grew up in Mishicot, WI, loving the outdoors and sports. Scott built his life around his family and friends, and was known for his big heart and willingness to help others. His love, strength and integrity will be greatly missed. Scott met his best friend and love of his life, Jolene Goessl, when they were in high school. He became Jolene’s devoted husband when they were married on Dec. 30, 1995. They recently celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary, with the help of their two daughters, McKenna (13) and Kyra (10), who decorated their home with a handmade sign referring to “a love so strong, it can’t be broken." Scott was the kind of father every daughter dreams of and was involved in all aspects of his daughters’ lives. He was actively involved as a Task Force Member for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, which involved raising funds with his eldest, McKenna. Scott also coached Kyra's softball team and performed with her in the father-daughter dance recital. He was dedicated and hardworking. Scott was the owner of Central Service of Monona, WI, and worked as a Senior Tax Consultant at Alt Financial Services of Janesville, WI. He was actively involved in the community and was a founding member of the Cottage Grove Kids Park. Scott was a fan of all things Wisconsin! He cheered for the Packers and Badgers. He reveled in spending time with his family, whether it be camping, attending sporting events, or planning family trips, as well as hunting and fishing trips with his father, brother, and many other relatives.

Scott is survived by his wife, Jolene Carviou; daughters, McKenna and Kyra; his parents, Dale and Doreen Carviou of Mishicot, WI; brothers, Kirt (Wendy) of Tisch Mills, WI, and Casey of Mishicot; nephew, Nicholas; and niece, Katlin; his grandmother, Betty Brouchoud; many aunts and uncles, in-laws, cousins and the family cat, Nash. Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Florence "Tina" Carviou; grandfather, Earl Brouchoud; and aunt, Joy Carviou.

A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, WI, at Noon on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, with Father Randy Timmerman and Deacon David Hendrickson presiding, followed by a light lunch and time for reflections.
