Jets open series with first-place Port Huron tonight
If the Janesville Jets are going to gain some ground in the NAHL North standings this weekend, they’ll have to do it against the top team in the division.
The Port Huron Fighting Falcons come to the Janesville Ice Arena for a two-game set beginning tonight.
Port Huron is 24-11-7 and leads the North by five points. The Fighting Falcons are 4-0 against the Jets, 18-21-2 and in sixth with 38 points, this season.
Janesville has endured more than a handful of roster changes since it won eight of nine games heading into 2014. The Jets will welcome four new players to the ice tonight: forward Truman Gonzalez, defenseman Michael Bigelbach, forward Rob Marsanico, and defenseman Ian Janco.
They picked up the new players in trades involving two other teams this week. Forward Michael Louria, who was the Jets leading scorer with 40 points in 41 games, was traded to Minot (N.D.) as part of the deals.
Both games in the series against Port Huron begin at 7 p.m.
