JANESVILLE — A Janesville man is saying goodbye to his 1968 pickup truck and hello to the 2014 Ford Fiesta he won in a fundraiser sponsored, in part, by ECHO.

Mike Page was one of 10 finalists in the nonprofit's Win A Car fundraiser, according to a new release from ECHO.

On Saturday, each finalist was given a key to start the vehicle. Page's was the only one that worked.

The fundraiser was conducted to help fill January food orders. The food donated made 8,000 meals for the Rock County community, the release said.

From December through Thursday, Jan. 30, people could drop off five nonperishable food items at McDonald's, 2610 W. Court St., Janesville, or Gordie-Boucher Ford Lincoln, 2727 E. Highway 14.

Each donation of five food items qualified as a chance to win the car.

The car is valued at $17,935 and was donated by Trippco Management and the Guy Bucciferro family of Beloit, owners of the McDonald's on West Court Street.
