August 5, 1949 - January 28, 2014

Sandra J. Beecher, age 64, died on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at St. Mary's Janesville Hospital. She was born in Fort Atkinson, on Aug. 5, 1949, the daughter of Edmond and Agnes L. (Anderson) Beecher. Sandy grew up on Lake Koshkonong, where she learned to cast a line, navigate a boat and enjoy leisure summer days stretched out on the family pier. In winter, the snow covered hills at Koshkonong Mounds set the stage for her tobogganing parties, while the frozen lake was her made-to-order skating rink. In her family's home, friends were often invited and always welcome. After graduating high school, Sandy attended classes at UW-Stout and before the birth of her children, lived, and worked in Madison, Milwaukee, and Janesville. Prior to retirement, her most recent position was with Walmart, where she worked for many years and made close and lasting friendships with her co-workers and customers. Sandy lived an unpretentious life. She was a passionate mother; loving and ever giving in her role as mother and grandmother, not only with her own children, but to the many children she cared for. Always looking at the bright side of life, Sandy was outgoing, laughed often, forgave easily, and kept the welfare of others close to her heart.

Sandy is survived by her five children: Michael S. (Tracy) McGinley, Brian (girlfriend, Stephanie Petchak) McGinley, Jason McGinley and Kelly McGinley all of Janesville, and Shelley McGinley of Milton; four grandchildren: Spencer, Kailey, Trenton and Dani; one sister, Barbara Bennett of Largo, FL; her significant other of 25 years, Michael L. McGinley; and special friends of the family, Samantha Elliott and Jeremy Elliott. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Elizabeth; and brother, Chuck Beecher.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at FAITH COMMUNITY CHURCH, Janesville, with Rev. Tim Bales officiating.
