Police: Shooting left bullet in Janesville residence
JANESVILLE—Police are trying to learn more about a shooting that left a bullet hole in the side of a residence and a bullet inside a living room on the west side early Friday.
According to Janesville police reports, officers were called to Gartland Avenue on the city's west side for a report of gunshots at about 1:20 a.m. Friday.
Police at the time were unable to find evidence of a shooting, but a resident in the 1600 block of Gartland Avenue later reported finding a bullet hole in the residence and a bullet in the living room, according to reports.
Police have not released details on the shooting, including when the resident discovered the bullet hole and the bullet, and it's not clear if there were any witnesses who saw anyone shooting a gun.
A Janesville police sergeant late Saturday said there have been no arrests in the incident, and it's not clear if the shooting was a random act. The officer said it appears no one was injured.
The sergeant said he was unable to divulge more information on the shooting pending an ongoing police investigation.
