JANESVILLE--A spun-out sports-utility vehicle with a rear wheel hanging off a bridge tied up traffic early today on Interstate 90/39 at Milton Avenue on Janesville's northeast side.

A wrecker removed the SUV and all lanes of Interstate and Milton Avenue traffic returned to normal about 7:25 a.m.

About 6:50 a.m., a traffic camera showed the SUV facing the wrong way in the inside northbound lane of the Interstate. It's rear passenger wheel appeared to be be overhanging the southbound lane of Milton Avenue/Highway 26 below it.

The accident, which apparently left the driver unhurt, happened about 6:45 a.m.

County dispatchers and scanner chatter indicated numerous traffic problems caused by icy roads and blowing snow this morning. They are particularly bad on east-west roads, a dispatcher said.
