August W. Weber, Jr., age 87, of Janesville, passed away early Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Select Specialty Hospital, Madison. He was born Sept. 6, 1926, in Janesville, the son of the late August W. and Agnes (Thiede) Weber. He was active in the Boy Scouts, and attained the rank of Eagle Scout in 1943. He attended school in Janesville, and was a graduate of Janesville High School, Class of 1944. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, and enlisted in the Army Air Force Reserves in 1943. Augie was called to active duty in February, 1945. He earned his Private Pilot's License in 1947, and enjoyed many years of flight! After his discharge from the Air Force, he returned to work at the Parker Pen Co., working until taking early retirement in 1983, retiring as the General Production Manager. Augie, then, earned his Real Estate License and worked for Wauwatosa Realty until retiring in 1988. On Dec. 23, 1950, he married the former Marjorie A. Nelson in Watertown, WI. Augie was a member of the Tri-City Radio Controllers Model Airplane Club, and also held an amateur radio Extra Class license W9HSQ since 1949.
Augie is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his two sons, Steven (Sarah) Weber of Roanoke, IN, and William (Becka) Weber of Algonquin, IL; his daughter, Nancy Weber of Darien, WI; his grandson, Daniel Weber; his two granddaughters, Katie and Kristi Weber; one great-grandson, Tyler; his brother, Daniel (Carol) Weber of Grass Valley, CA; nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Sandra Kay Weber and Judith Ann Weber, who died in infancy; his four brothers, Donald, Robert, Richard and his twin brother, Rodney; and his grandson, Aaron Weber.
As per Augie's wishes, private family services and interment will take place at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery.
