Russell P. Stewart, age 72, of Janesville, was called home on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, after a long illness. He was born in Lake Geneva, WI, on July 27, 1941, the son of the late Roy and Grace (Dabson) Stewart. Russ graduated from Milton High School and Honorably served in the US Army. Over the years, Russ has been married three times and he has three children who survive him. Russ retired from GMAD after over 30 years of service and he is a member of the GM Retirees Local #95. He enjoyed country music, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, and was an avid baseball, football and hockey fan. He was also very proud of his 1968 and 1993 Oldsmobile Convertibles. Russ was a very easy going person, who loved to banter with his children. He was known to be a very honest, and dependable gentleman, with a heart of gold.

Russ is survived by his three children: Lonny (Lori) Stewart of Janesville, Bruce Stewart of Janesville, and DeEtte Stewart of Hayward, WI; grandchildren whom he was very proud of: Taylor Stewart, Sadie Stewart, M. Grace Stewart, Jacob Stewart, and Alex (Lizzi) Brockman; and great-granddaughter, Scarlett Brockman. He is further survived by his brother and sister-in-law, William and Judy Stewart of Janesville; long time childhood friend, Pat Keister of Milton; brother-in-law, Raleigh Reece of Janesville; many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four sisters and six brothers.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at the WHITCOMB - LYNCH FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Wendee Nitz officiating. Private interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the FUNERAL HOME.
