Your Thanks: Charity workers appreciate those who help group
The Riverview Heights Charity Workers would like to thank all those who support our efforts to help the homeless in Rock County.
First of all, to Shelly Birkelo for writing such a nice article explaining what we do; to the Rock County Dental Association for helping us supply toothbrushes and paste; to the people who donated soaps, shampoos, conditioners, etc., and yarn so we can continue to make the items to help the needy of this area.
A legally blind knitter from South Carolina sends us hats that she continues to knit, and this year they numbered 80. She understands how bitterly cold it gets in Wisconsin because she’s a former resident of Madison.
We also appreciated the folks who came to our bake sale last year and/or donated items. It is a community effort for sure.
A good friend to our group is Kelly Mack, who helps deliver the finished items to the various groups.
We would be remiss if we didn’t thank the staff of Riverview Heights Apartments for helping us accomplish all of the above.
Anyone wishing to come knit/crochet with us, we meet from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursdays and would love having you join us. You do not have to live at Riverview Heights to help with this effort, and in fact many of us come in from the surrounding area. You will be welcome.
