JANESVILLE—A man accused of shooting through a door and wounding his sister was arrested Wednesday. He is expected to make his initial appearance in Rock County Court on Thursday.

Sidney M. Johnson, 20, Huntley, Ill., was visiting his family in Janesville on Jan. 8 when he heard noises, thought it was an intruder, and shot through the door, police have said.

Johnson's 13-year-old sister suffered wounds to her arm and torso.

Janesville police Detective Chris Buescher said Johnson was arrested on a charge of first-degree reckless injury.

Johnson has been confined to a treatment facility but was released Wednesday at the Rock County Courthouse, where police arrested him. He was questioned and is being held at the Rock County Jail.
