Huge second half carries Whitewater women

UW-Whitewater's women's basketball team rallied for a victory Saturday afternoon.

Trailing by 13 at half, the Warhawks erupted for 52 points in the second half en route to an 84-79 WIAC win over UW-Superior.

Whitewater (13-4 overall) improved to 7-0 in the conference and remained in sole possession of first place.

Amy Mandrell had a game-high 26 points for Whitewater, which made 25 of 28 free throws for the game.

The Warhawks host UW-La Crosse on Wednesday night.

Men run winning streak to five

UW-Whitewater's men's basketball team ran its winning streak to five Saturday afternoon.

K.J. Evans scored 19 points to lead the Warhawks to an easy 97-52 WIAC win over UW-Superior.

Whitewater (14-2, 5-2) led by 13 at half and scored 58 points in the second half.

Twelve players scored for the Warhawks, who hit 10 3-pointers.

Whitewater plays at UW-La Crosse on Wednesdasy night.
