Edgerton man accused of child porn possession
EDGERTON—An Edgerton man arrested by state agents Wednesday is accused of possessing child pornography videos.
Hermilo Burgos Gomez, 27, of 1221 Hain Road, Edgerton, was charged in Rock County Court on Thursday with five counts of possession of child pornography.
Each of the charges carries penalties that include a maximum 25 years in prison.
The porn consists of videos showing children engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to the criminal complaint.
The movies were loaded on a laptop computer confiscated during the execution of a search warrant Wednesday by the state Division of Criminal Investigation with the help of Edgerton police, according to the complaint.
The complaint states Burgos Gomez lived in a basement bedroom of the residence that also was occupied by a couple and their three children, but there is no indication anyone in the residence suffered any harm from Burgos Gomez.
Burgos Gomez told investigators he had been downloading child pornography for about three years, the complaint states.
Burgos Gomez was held on a $10,000 cash bond and was ordered to have no contact with any minors and no Internet access.
