Michelle T. “Mickey” Hay passed away peacefully on Monday morning, Jan. 13th, 2014, at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, FL, after a short illness. She was a long-term resident at Seven Hills Nursing Home after a fall in 2003. Mickey was born Jan. 20th, 1939, in Milwaukee, WI, to parents Gilbert E. and B. “Jeri” (Olsen) Czarnecki. She graduated from Bay View High School and received her RN from Columbia School of Nursing. She worked as an emergency room nurse in Columbia Hospital for a number of years. After her marriage to Ferdinand Kojis in 1961, and the birth of her first son, F. Damian, in 1962, the family moved to Elkhorn, WI. Her second son, Darin E., was born in 1965. Mickey worked for the University of Wisconsin, Gateway Technical Institute assisting in directing the EMT training program for the State of Wisconsin.

Mickey is survived by her sons; three grandchildren: Jasmine Eisinger, Benjamin Kojis, and Kenneth Kojis; two sisters, Stephanie Crew and Pierette Cohea; four nieces; six grand-nieces; and one grand-nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and second husband, James Hay.

The following events will be at THE GOOD SHEPHERD PARISH at 4665 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, FL: Visitation and Rosary 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening, Jan. 15, 2014; the funeral mass will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at GOOD SHEPHERD with reception to follow.
